RisingWave Labs and Voltron Data Collaborate to Accelerate Stream Processing

RisingWave Labs is excited to announce a strategic collaboration with Voltron Data, a pioneering data analytics company, to deliver a seamless real-time data processing experience to Python developers. Voltron Data is leading the way in accelerating composable data systems using open standards. RisingWave Labs is focused on providing the simplest and most cost-efficient approach for processing, analyzing, and managing real-time event streaming data. RisingWave Labs and Voltron Data collaboration is a major step towards the goal of enabling enterprises to harness stream processing for immediate insights and decision-making.

A notable milestone was reached in the quest to create a unified Python dataframe API for both batch and streaming execution engines with the Ibis version 8.0 release. Ibis, the widely used portable Python dataframe library backed by Voltron Data includes support for stream processing backends for the first time. We are excited to announce that, as part of our efforts to enhance seamless stream processing, the Ibis 8.0 release now includes RisingWave as a streaming database backend.

This achievement highlights new possibilities for the Python developer community. With the integration of RisingWave, Python developers gain access to a top-notch Postgres-compatible distributed SQL streaming engine backend. For RisingWave users, Ibis provides a straightforward way to run Python code directly on RisingWave, greatly benefiting real-time ML use cases.

Speaking about this partnership, RisingWave Labs CEO Yingjun Wu said, "Feature engineering is a crucial component that empowers modern AI/ML applications. RisingWave together with Ibis and Voltron Data, aims to provide an integrated, unified platform for both streaming and batch processing. This platform bridges the gap between data science and data engineering teams." In conclusion, RisingWave Labs and Voltron Data will continue to work together to further enhance the Ibis library in order to meet emerging workload needs.
